Jonas Frii has close to 30 years’ experience of advising on energy, infrastructure, electrification and real assets. His in-depth industry knowledge and long career have made him a recognized authority in this field. Jonas represents investors, developers, energy companies, infrastructure funds and public-sector bodies in complex project investments, financing and transactions throughout the Nordic region.
Jonas has a uniquely broad experience of critical infrastructure, such as data centres, large-scale grid and electrification projects, energy-intensive industry, battery and hybrid systems, solar energy, and onshore and offshore wind projects. His advisory services cover the entire lifecycle of large infrastructure projects – from land acquisition and permitting issues to energy strategy, power purchase agreement structures, regulatory issues, long-term agreements and project implementation.
He has played a key advisory role in many of the Nordic region’s most significant energy and infrastructure transactions of recent decades. Jonas is also active in the rapidly growing Nordic data centre sector, assisting with issues on grid capacity, regulatory frameworks, energy contracting and project delivery structures. His assignments often include cross-border transactions, project financing and complex negotiations, and he has also advised several Swedish state institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and the National Property Board of Sweden.
Jonas has been ranked by the Legal 500 (Energy) – Hall of Fame and Chambers Europe (Energy & Natural Resources) – in Band 1 for over 10 years; a testament to his long-standing, highly respected position in the Nordic energy and infrastructure market.
